In a testament to the growing credentials of the Sustainable Energy and Environment Division (SEED) of TECOM Investments, Sougata Nandi, Director SEED was recently a guest speaker at an event organized by Intersthul, the German company that provided the furniture for TECOM’s Board Room – part of the first LEED certified Platinum Office in the region.
The event titled “Architecture & Sustainability” saw the participation of a very illustrious guest - the Iranian Architect, Hadi Teherani - the man behind some of the most famous sustainable projects in the world.

In his lecture on TECOM’s sustainability achievements, Sougata provided an overview of the steps needed to obtain LEED certification and the most important lessons learnt. In continuation with SEED’s mandate to dispel some of the misconceptions regarding green building certification, Sougata shared technical and financial information from TECOM’s LEED projects. It must be noted here that SEED, in collaboration with TBP Brands, have delivered 5 LEED certified projects in 10 months, a record of sorts.
Both Sougata and Teherani stressed the importance of long term vision and strong organizational commitment as key elements of success.
